These pictures show more clearly than words the utility of the Johnson's flying boat in Borneo. Many until then difficult to reach places were visited with little trouble. The photos also illustrate the bravery of the pilots and passengers; if there ever had been a problem they would have been truely on their own. Finally, it is clear that by the mid 1930's, the airplane was a serious tool for exploration in far off corners of the world.
